According to Anne Partridge’s friends, she is the most giving, sincere and Christ-like person they know. Anne lives her faith through service to others. Anne best describes her work as a “community volunteer.” She currently volunteers with The Ronald McDonald House, United Way of Central Ohio, Kidsmiles Pediatric Dental Clinic, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Women’s Auxiliary, and is on the Community Shelter Board of Columbus.
One of the obstacles that Anne had to overcome so far in her life was having to prove herself as one of the first female U.S. Postal Inspectors. “It was not easy to take the risk to leave a supportive, comfortable environment to transplant into a challenging, male dominated law enforcement career in new places. I was able to demonstrate that I could handle the challenge and my piers/partners were very supportive and comfortable with my job performance.” Also, at the age of 34 years, Anne was was told that she was carrying triplets! For some, this would seem like an obstacle but for Anne it was the moment in her life that best defines her. “I knew with God’s help, I could handle it.”
In 2013, Anne and her husband Jack were named United Way Ambassadors in Columbus. “My husband is very instrumental in helping me to network with others for very worthy causes and I am blessed with incredible friends who are ever-so-willing to work together for the good of others.” Anne has also spearheaded the efforts to bring back the women’s guild at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital with the goal of “helping Mount Carmel St. Ann’s with their mission to provide quality health care and spiritual guidance and comfort to all who enter through their doors and for the needy in the communities which they serve.” They recently held their first fundraiser called “Hard Hats & Heels” with the funds going to the historic expansion of Mount Carmel St. Ann’s. The expansion will transform Mount Carmel St. Ann’s into Central Ohio’s next destination, regional medical center.
The change that Anne would like to make in the world is she would like people, including herself, to slow down and spend more time being neighborly. Her ultimate goal in life is to be a good example to her family by helping others whenever she can, in little ways and big ways.
Anne gives a lot of credit to her mom for teaching her to serve others. “She taught me as a child to serve others despite our own needs. My mom worked endlessly to care for elderly neighbors, children and families in need while making so many personal sacrifices for my dad and seven siblings. I am who I am because of her.”
